WELCOME TO SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

In the year 2020, technology has certainly been thrust into the spotlight of work, education, and entertainment.  Entire educational systems were asked to move to remote learning in the blink of an eye and learners were immediately faced with their abilities to be more self-directed in their learning.  Educators were asked to prioritize learning outcomes and examine how to best construct learning environments to maximize those learning outcomes.  Technology and online resources can be important components of self-directed learning.  The focus of this presentation will be to share the overall goals for increasing learner self-direction and to share technology and digital tools that can support SDL growth in learners.
